ACPI package version 3.23.01 released

An ACPI packageArca Noae is pleased to announce the immediate availability of our ACPI Package for OS/2 and eComStation version 3.23.01.

This release contains the following changes:

  • Updated to ACPICA 20150930. ACPI 6.0 is now supported.
  • Documentation updates and corrections.
  • Fixed a problem which caused a reboot on some systems when a trap occurred.
  • Automatically limit to Virtual Wire mode on systems with unsupported IOAPIC setups.
  • Minor changes to PCI setup for systems which need to run in VW mode.
  • There are toolkit changes with this version.

New MultiMac NIC driver package (20150903) released

Arca Noae is pleased to announce the immediate availability of a new release of our MultiMac NIC driver package.

New in this release:

  • A new MMRE driver for RealTek 8139C+/8169/8169S/8110S/8168/8111/8101E LAN adapters.
  • A mew MMALC driver for Atheros AR813x/AR815x PCIe Ethernet LAN adapters.
  • A new MMALE driver for Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114 PCIe Ethernet LAN adapters.
  • A new MMAE driver for Attansic Technology Corp. L2 FastEthernet LAN adapters.
  • Updated NVETH, E1000E, R8169, and E1000B drivers.
    Although there are no changes to these drivers, they have been recompiled for this release. This means that any changes to the system libraries will also be incorporated into them.

As always, please read the ReadMe.txt file that comes with each driver and is
also provided on the wiki. Problems encountered with this version should be reported to the ticketing system. Simply log in with your Arca Noae credentials, select MultiMac from the list of projects, and open a ticket.

USB driver package version 11.13 released

Arca Noae is pleased to announce the immediate availability of release 11.13 of our updated USB stack.

The changes in this version are mostly related to the USBCALLS interface which should finally be working correctly now. The USBCALLS interface is used by CUPS, TAME, Cameraderie, and many other similar applications.

This release addresses the following issues:

  • Updated the Intel ACPICA code to the current version.
  • Documentation updates and corrections.
  • Fixed a problem which prevented the ACPI daemon from running on non-eCS
    systems.

New MultiMac NIC driver package (20150529) released

Arca Noae is pleased to announce the immediate availability of a new release of our MultiMac NIC driver package.

New in this release:

  • A new E1000B driver.
    This is the first driver produced using the newly developed library for porting FreeBSD drivers that was discussed at Warpstock 2014. The E1000B driver supports more chipsets than the E1000E driver. This driver is the first release, and is still considered experimental, however, testers have been using it for a few weeks with no problems.
  • Updated NVETH, E1000E, R8169 drivers.
    Although there are no changes to these drivers, they have been recompiled for this release. This means that any changes to the system libraries will also be incorporated into them.

Arca Noae at Warpstock Europe 2015

Our own David Azarewicz and Lewis Rosenthal will be presenting at this year’s Warpstock Europe, in Munch, Germany, June 6-7. This will be a rare opportunity to hear from two of the Company’s principals about what Arca Noae is presently doing, and what is planned for the future.

USB driver package version 11.12 released

Arca Noae is pleased to announce the immediate availability of release 11.12 of our updated USB stack.

Highlights of some of the fixes in this release:

  • Changed the way devices are initialized to accommodate some so-called “buggy” devices.
  • Fixed buffer management problems in USBCALLS interface.

The Warpin package has been restructured to work on both OS/2 and eCS systems. Installing an older version after installing this version may cause problems. See the ReadMe.txt file.

Arca Noae licenses source code for SNAP Graphics for OS/2

It is Arca Noae’s intention to release an updated version of SNAP Graphics for OS/2 in the near future.

Highlights of some of the fixes in this release:

  • Fixed the way errors are handled in USBKBD and USBMOUSE.
  • Fixed a problem with extremely slow devices in USBEHCD, USBOHCD and USBUHCD.
  • Fixed a problem with concurrent device initialization in all the class drivers.
  • Fixed a problem with isochronous transfers in USBOHCD.
